Standalone Credit Controller | £35,000 - £40,000 | Liverpool City Centre | Hybrid

Adaptable Recruitment are proud to be exclusively partnering with a prestigious, well-established business based in Liverpool to recruit an experienced Standalone Credit Controller.

This is a key, senior hire into the business - someone who will take full ownership of the credit control function and help drive consistency, process improvement, and results across a high-value, low-volume B2B ledger.

What's on Offer:

  • Salary £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
  • Hybrid working pattern - 2 days from home
  • 9:00-5:30 core hours, but flexible on working style
  • 25 days annual leave + birthday off
  • A genuinely supportive and collaborative culture that support growth

The Role:
Reporting directly into the Finance Director, this is a standalone position that offers autonomy and influence within a dynamic finance team. You'll be responsible for the full credit control cycle, attending regular credit meetings and owning client relationships to ensure timely and consistent cash collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end credit control process for a B2B ledger
  • Proactively chase outstanding debt, primarily over the phone - relationship building is key.
  • Monitor and report on aged debt, cash collection, and performance trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries and prevent issues escalating.
  • Attend regular credit meetings and provide accurate, consistent reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to credit control processes and procedures.
  • Work independently, taking full responsibility for the function while collaborating closely with wider teams.

About You:
We're looking for a confident, experienced Credit Controller who thrives in a standalone role and is passionate about improving performance and building relationships. You'll ideally come from a professional services or similar B2B environment and be comfortable dealing with a high-value ledger.

You will be:

  • A seasoned Credit Controller with strong B2B experience, ideally in professional services.
  • Commercially aware and comfortable working with high-value invoices and lower volumes.
  • A strong communicator - confident picking up the phone and owning client conversations.
  • Process-driven, analytical, and proactive in resolving issues.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to wider team goals.
