Job Title: HR Manager
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000
Location: Warrington
Reports to: Head of People
Overall Purpose of the Role
The HR Manager will lead and deliver a comprehensive, high quality HR service across the organisation. This role is responsible for driving the People strategy, supporting managers, overseeing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice. This is a hands on generalist role suited to a confident HR professional who can balance strategic initiatives with operational delivery, supporting a fast moving and people focused business based in Warrington.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational HR
- Lead the day-to-day HR function, ensuring a proactive, solution focused service.
- Support the implementation and delivery of the organisation's People strategy.
- Provide expert advice on HR policy, best practice, and legislative changes.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape culture, workforce planning and organisational development.
Employee Relations
- Oversee and advise on all ER matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance and capability.
- Ensure cases are managed consistently, fairly and in line with UK employment law.
- Coach and support managers to build ER confidence and capability.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Work closely with managers to define requirements, interview and select high quality talent.
- Ensure effective onboarding and integration for all new starters.
Performance, Talent & Development
- Lead the annual performance review cycle and support managers with objective setting.
- Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities across the organisation.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Engagement & Culture
- Drive initiatives that promote employee engagement, wellbeing and a positive workplace culture.
- Analyse engagement data and deliver action plans that enhance employee experience.
- Support internal communication and recognition programmes.
People Analytics & HR Compliance
- Maintain accurate HR data and produce reporting for leadership as required.
- Monitor absence, turnover and workforce trends, recommending improvements.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR and internal policies.
People Projects
- Lead or support HR projects such as policy reviews, system implementations, change management or restructuring.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role.
- Strong generalist background with hands on experience across ER, recruitment, performance, and development.
- Thorough knowledge of current UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience operating in a fast paced environment
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance people and business needs.
Qualifications
- CIPD Level 7 desirable but not essential.
